## Led Dimmer Making

### Introduction

Today, we will show you a circuit through which the light of the Led can be controlled. These types of circuits are called led dimmer circuits. These types of circuits are used in various lighting and projector electronic control devices. Let’s get started.

### Required Materials

1. Battery 9v – 1  piece
2. 555 IC. – 1 piece
3. Variable Resistor (10k) – 1 piece
4. IN4007 – 2 piece
5. Capacitor (100nf) – 1 piece
6. LED – 1 piece

### Circuit Diagram

B: When you connect the circuit, try to understand the process and circuit diagram mentioned below.

### Circuit Connection Process

• First, connect the pin 8 and 4 of the 555 timer and connect it to the battery positive.
• Now let connect 1 pin of the 555 timer to the negative of the battery.
• Let’s connect the 1st  pin of the variable register to the Anode of the Diode.
• Again connect the 2nd pin of the variable register to the other Diode‘s Cathode.
• Now, let’s connect the remainder point of the Diode.
• Then connect the positive end of the Led to the pin 3 on the 555 timer and the negative end of the Led to the negative of the battery.
• Now, connect the remaining edge of the variable register to pin 3 on the 555 timer.

### Procedure

This circuit is called Led Dimmer, usually Led Dimmer means Led Controller. Here Led’s lighting is controlled using some of the specific Components. Notable of these are the 555 ic and Variable Resistor.

### Circuit Analysis

1. Here the number 8 pin is connected to provide voltage within the 555 timer.
2. The pin 4 will reset the Ic.
3. The pin 1 will get the negative voltage.
4. Here Diode will keep the two current flow directions and will help with Charge and Discharge.
5. Here the capacitor gives the 2nd pin a Trigger or a slight voltage.

### Caution

• When adjusting the Variable Resistor, be careful not to apply too much force.
• The diode must connect properly.

## What Is The Function Of The Variable Resistor Here?

In this circuit, the variable resistor plays a key role. Here is a picture of the variable register. Here, according to the circuit, the positive voltage will go to pin 1 of the Variable Resistor and pin 2 will pass the negative voltage which will be controlled by the rectifier. Here the pin 3 of the Variable Resistor is given at pin 3 of the 555 timer. Now you may realize that pin 3 of this Variable Resistor controls the light of the LED. Here we used the small Variable Resistor. You can use the Potentiometer if you want.
